Our Story
Our journey began in the bustling halls of Wilkes University during freshman chemistry class, where a simple seating arrangement paired us as lab partners. Countless hours studying together turned into endless laughter and late-night football conversations. On September 13, 2019, we officially started dating—an especially meaningful date, as it echoed Andrew’s parents, Kim and Mike, who also met at Wilkes and have now been happily married for 30 years.
Over the last five years, we’ve shared an incredible adventure: exploring 19 National Parks, running a marathon side by side, and navigating the challenges of college and podiatry school. Through every step, we’ve been one another’s biggest supporter, and our wedding was the celebration of that unwavering bond.
Why We Chose Our Venue
The Lake House Inn felt like a dream come true from the moment we visited. Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful, but it gave us the rare opportunity to hold both of our ceremonies—Hindu and Catholic—on the same day, at the same place. Having our rehearsal dinner, after-party, and overnight accommodations for our bridal party and family all on-site made everything seamless. It truly felt like home for the weekend.
Working with the Venue
From start to finish, Craig at LHI was nothing short of amazing. He went above and beyond to make every detail flawless, from helping us coordinate two ceremonies in one day to ensuring the menu reflected both of our tastes. His professionalism, kindness, and calm demeanor helped us enjoy the process and focus on what mattered most—celebrating with our loved ones.
The Ceremony
Our wedding day was unique in that it began with a vibrant Hindu ceremony in the morning, filled with color, tradition, and joy, followed by a celebratory lunch. They also allowed Southern Spice (an outside caterer) to help caterer the Indian lunch buffet. Later in the evening, we exchanged vows in a Catholic ceremony surrounded by the glow of the lake and the love of our family and friends. Having both traditions honored so beautifully in one day was incredibly meaningful to us and to our families.
Cocktail Hour
Cocktail hour was a highlight that our guests are still raving about. The sushi station, dim sum, and raw bar were not only delicious but also visually stunning. One of the biggest hits was our margarita bar upgrade—our guests loved the festive touch, and it brought so much fun energy to the start of the reception. The LHI also had several Indian-inspired dishes such as samosas, paneer bites, and rasam soup shooters.
The Ballroom Décor & Dancing
The ballroom was everything we dreamed of: elegant yet warm, with views of the lake that made the room glow as the evening unfolded. North East Flower Boutique decorated the ballroom beautifully. The layout allowed for a packed dance floor, which never emptied thanks to our amazing DJ. We wanted an atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable and celebrated, and the ballroom delivered exactly that.

Dinner, Wedding Cake, & Desserts
Dinner was another standout. Guests couldn’t stop talking about the roasted garlic yuzu glazed chicken—it was easily one of the most popular dishes of the night. Other entrée choices were grilled salmon filet in a lemon buerre blanc sauce and a grilled vegetable lasagna with ricotta and mozzarella, in a tomato sauce.
For dessert, we wanted something fun and personal, so we included a gelato cart alongside chocolate chip banana bread pudding, English trifle, and warm chocolate chip cookies.
We had a three-tier wedding cake with top and bottom tiers of vanilla chiffon and dark chocolate ganache filling, with a middle tier of chocolate chip pound cake with dark chocolate ganache filling and vanilla butter cream icing. This mix of sweet treats meant there was something for everyone and our guests definitely indulged!
Our Thanks
We are endlessly grateful to everyone who made our wedding day so special. To Craig and the entire team at The Lake House Inn—thank you for making the planning process so smooth and our wedding unforgettable. To our vendors, whose talents brought our vision to life, and to our families and friends, who supported us not just on this day but throughout our journey together—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be, and more.
