Marisa and Tigran’s wedding at The Garrison in Garrison, New York, offered stunning panoramic views of NY’s Hudson Valley, rustic elegance and delicious food. “For dinner, everything was delish. For entrées, I had seared striped bass with tarragon beure blanc and Tigran had grilled filet mignon, each served with roasted vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. Both were fantastic!!”
Q: What did The Garrison serve for cocktail hour? A: “Some of our favorite cocktail hour dishes were wild mushroom and risotto purses, oysters, house-made potato chips with bleu cheese dip and chives, and pigs in a blanket with Dijon mustard.”

An Immediate Connection
We met through a mutual friend! We were all out at Shine’s Bar, a classic dive bar in Long Beach, NY, and we immediately connected. For our first date we got Thai food and watched the movie “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.” Tigran proposed by placing the ring on an oyster shell while we were out at dinner (I conceived the idea, tho! haha)

“Everything We Were Looking For”
We chose The Garrison because our friends got married there a few years prior and had an amazing wedding. The Garrison had everything we were looking for. Our Event Coordinator, Bridget Bell, was fantastic. She was proactive and patient throughout the process and truly helped our day go off without a hitch. Our marriage was officiated by my cousin, Samuel Iovino. It was short, wonderfully sweet, and to the point.
Cocktail Hour Treats
We missed part of the cocktail hour to take some gorgeous sunset photos. Luckily we were able to join for the tail end. We had custom cocktails: a MARtini and TIGroni. Tigran’s father sketched the drawings for the menu. Some of our favorite cocktail hour dishes were wild mushroom and risotto purses, oysters, house-made potato chips with bleu cheese dip and chives, and pigs in a blanket with Dijon mustard. Guests also enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres like shrimp cocktail with cocktail sauce, assorted sushi rolls, vegetable spring rolls with sweet chili sauce, and of course oysters on a half shell .
We also had an Italian station and other stations, including antipasto with roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella, rigatoni mezzi with roasted tomatoes and herbed ricotta, and herb and garlic meatballs with Marinara sauce.
Stunning Views
Because they’re situated in the heart of the Hudson Valley, the Garrison provides stunning views of the mountains. Our florist, Anika, did an incredible job adding to that and created some truly unforgettable and otherworldly décor for our ceremony and reception.
Everything Was Delish & Thanks To All
For dinner, everything was delish. We started with a romaine salad with garlic croutons and shaved parmesan. For entrées, we shared seared striped bass with tarragon beure blanc and grilled filet mignon in a red wine veal jus. Both dishes were served with roasted vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. Both were fantastic!! Neither of us are huge dessert people, so we weren’t too focused on the cake. Still, The Garrison delivered a perfect wedding cake for us.
We want to extend our special thanks to Bridget Bell at The Garrison, our photographer Richard Krutick, our florist Anika Maram, DJ Domenic Trocino, our videographer Tyler Cino Maradiaga, my best friend Laura McAdams who supported us in great detail, graphic designer Michelle Perreault who created our invite suite, and of course, our loving and supportive friends and families!
