Stephanie & Alex at Liberty House

Why We Chose Our Venue ...

Stephanie & Alex's Wedding at Liberty House“We visited three of the Landmark Hospitality venues and Liberty House was our last stop. When the doors opened to the grand ballroom, we knew it would be our venue. The city view, wooden beams, and iron chandeliers created the perfect ambiance for our wedding.

Danielle Villa, director of events, felt like family right away. She responded to every email in less than an hour and made us feel comfortable. Elizabeth Rosario, our bridal attendant, accommodated our every need during the wedding.”

“Vintage Romance”

Alex and I went to the same high school, but our paths did not cross until I was 23 years old. I am now a nurse and he is a police officer. One day, while he was at a traffic stop, I honked while pretending to swerve into him. He got so nervous he jumped into the air! It must have been memorable because later that day, he asked me to meet for a drink. We met at a local Irish pub, talked until the bar closed, and we’ve been together ever since.

Two and a half years later, Alex took me and some friends to the Brotherhood Winery for my birthday. He suggested we take a picture together under a gazebo. As one of our friends began to take the picture, Alex got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!  I said yes and then saw our family and closest friends come out from hiding to watch the proposal and celebrate.

We visited three of the Landmark Hospitality venues and Liberty House was our last stop.

Elizabeth Rosario, our bridal attendant, accommodated our every need during the wedding.

Our ceremony incorporated both my Catholic religion and some Jewish traditions. We included the unity candle tradition to symbolize our families coming together as one and Alex stepped on a lightbulb for the Jewish tradition of breaking the glass. Our guests loved the ice sculpture replica of Alex’s police badge, which also served as an ice luge.

As a surprise for Alex, I requested the sculpture just two days before the wedding and Danielle accommodated us right away. We had butler-passed hors d’oeuvres which included coconut shrimp, mini chicken parm, New Zealand lamb chops, and more. We also had several food stations. Our favorites were the “American Classics” station with sliders, mac and cheese, wings, and truffle fries and the mashed potato station with all kinds of toppings, all served in martini glasses. We had two signature vodka drinks named after our two dogs, one called “Kaia and Club” and the other called “Lucy in Love.”

Our ballroom had a mix of centerpieces. Some were gold manzanita trees with hanging tea lights and clusters of flowers and the others were gold mercury glass vases and pillar holders filled with candles and hot pink, white, and blush flowers. Our DJ created a contagious energy, amping the crowd up and making sure everyone was on the dance floor from start to finish.

Dinner began with a tri-colored salad and an intermezzo of lemon sorbet. For the entrée, guests had a choice of grilled filet mignon with a cabernet demi-glace; free-range chicken breast stuffed with spinach, Fontina cheese, and prosciutto; or grilled mahi-mahi with mango salsa in a ginger reduction. Danielle was so awesome and gave Alex short ribs for dinner, even though it was not originally on the menu, because he fell in love with it at our food tasting. He wiped his plate clean! Each guest also got a dessert trio of cake pops, mini cannolis, mini tres leches cakes, as well as our Funfetti wedding cake.

A very big thank you to both our families for making our wedding a dream come true! Thank you to Danielle, Elizabeth, and the whole team at Liberty House and our wedding planner for their help in creating this perfect day.
