“Simple, Chic, & Modern”

Matthew and I met at a bar down the shore in the summer. We frequently went to the same places every weekend and were bound to meet at some point. My apartment in NYC was a block from his office, so our first date was at a pub around the corner from my place.

A couple years later, we decided to move in together. We purchased our first home, a new condo in East Rutherford! I planned a house warming party and invited our family and friends.

Matt decided we should give a speech at the party. He started to talk but it quickly turned into something I did not expect: a proposal! Everyone at the party knew the surprise! My mom had engagement decorations, desserts, and a cake in her car and quickly flipped our place into an engagement party. It was unbelievable!

We loved Maritime’s Sky Room with its simple, chic, and modern ambiance, new hardwood floors, wraparound balcony, and large windows showcasing the view!

Working with the team at Maritime Parc was unforgettable! We met with Jayd Kingston, the sales manager, to go over the schedule, seating chart, vendor details, decor, and food. Closer to the wedding, we were assigned Nicole Garcia, our event coordinator, bridal attendant, and maître d’. We brought a ton of décor which the staff set up perfectly! After the ceremony, Matt and I had 10 minutes alone in the bridal suite.

The venue brought us our favorite drinks, espresso martinis, and food from the cocktail hour! My Berta gown was a couture gown you’d see at the Met gala, only more elegant! I took it to Madame Paulette’s to have the liner made and the dress fitted. The intricate dress with its beading and lace was a show stopper!

Our ceremony was set up with white curtains and during cocktail hour was transformed for the reception. A family friend, Steve, officiated, which was a special touch. We had two readers, my cousin and Matt’s good friend, and a string duo. Matt and I performed a sand ceremony, symbolizing the joining of our lives, families, and friends. I love that we can display the vase and show our kids one day!

Our cocktail hour was in the Aviary Room, with its wraparound balcony, fire pit, and huge windows with amazing views. We had passed bite-sized hors d’oeuvres such as BBQ chicken empanadas drizzled with chipotle cream, asparagus crostini, duck confit risotto, and more. We also had a fresh taco station, a pasta station, and a grilling station, accompanied by two full bars that served our signature cocktails. Our favorite station was the Asian table, which included Thai beef stir fry and “Bahn Mi” pork meatballs. We had a three-piece jazz band and cocktail napkins with “5 Facts about Amy & Matt!”

Our wedding theme was a modern, winter forest; clean and elegant. We chose navy, white, and silver as our colors and used branches, roses, baby’s breath, and twinkle lights to create the desired effect with the different sized and height centerpieces. A neon sign on the entrance wall said “The Lovendusky’s est. 2019,” and guests had “wedding wands” with ribbon and bells, which was a really fun and interactive detail.

Dinner was three courses. Burrata salad followed by a duo of beef with creamed spinach and truffled potato purée or ginger glazed sea bass with tea poached shiitake mushrooms, baby bok choy, and coconut broth. Dessert, custom funfetti or chocolate cupcakes with white icing and edible blue glitter, was brought to each table.

We also had passed sweets, such as New York cheesecake, fudge brownies, red velvet cupcakes, and sugar donut holes. We had a cupcake tower display with a small cake on top and a to-go station with cupcakes in a box. Our 13-piece band had our guests dancing the whole night, only taking breaks to eat and get air outside on the balcony with the fire pits and amazing views! I changed into a short, white sequin dress, which was a wonderful idea so people could dance with me and see my white lace Christian Louboutin booties!

Matt and I express our sincere appreciation to my Mom and Dad, Meg and Ken, for throwing us the wedding of our dreams! Thank you to Matt’s parents, Nancy and Ray, for coming to our florist appointments and for providing many of the candles for the decor. To our bridal parties, thank you so much for standing with us on our special day! Special thanks to the Maid of Honor and Best Man, Dianne and Pete, for such heartfelt toasts! Thank you to Steve for being our officiant, to Chris and Nick for your perfect ceremony speeches, to my day of coordinator, to the staff at Maritime Parc for all you did, and to all our guests who traveled across the country to be with us. We are so happy to have shared this wonderful day with you all!
