“Sophisticated & Modern”
David and I met while working at a beauty company in Manhattan. At the annual holiday party, we connected instantly. After two years of dating, David proposed while on vacation in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We began our wedding planning as soon as we came home!
After looking at several venues, we took a tour of Maritime Parc and immediately knew it was the place we’d envisioned for our wedding. We loved the Jersey City location and the beautiful views of New York City. The interior had the modern design touches we both love and the food was outstanding. Jayd Kingston, the sales manager, gave us our tour and ended up being a huge help in the months leading up to the wedding. She was always available, very helpful, and friendly. Jette Starniri, the vice president of operations, made sure the event design we envisioned actually materialized. She helped finalize all the details and they both made sure everything was as planned.
Our ceremony was at a church in Jersey City and our dog, Simba, was there to join us in our grand exit after the ceremony. It was important to us to involve him on our wedding day! After many photos, we began the celebrations at Maritime Parc with our cocktail hour. Maritime Parc was phenomenal at working with our event planner, floral designer, and us to accommodate our décor needs. Their flexibility and desire to grant our wishes allowed us to have an amazing celebration. We wanted to make sure both sides of our family had their favorite foods. Some cocktail hour highlights included a taco station, grilling station, raw bar, and Asian station. There were also passed hors d’oeuvres to make sure no one went hungry, even if they were busy socializing.
Our reception décor was based around a sophisticated, modern, industrial-inspired design. We focused on greens and colors which provided contrast. Our round tables had tall centerpieces with greenery, white, and deep burgundy flowers, with candles surrounding the base. Our banquet tables had a unique floral runner dotted with candles. Each setting was adorned with a gold-rimmed charger and a circular menu placed inside. We rented custom bars decorated with greenery to give a garden effect. On top were napkins with our custom monogram and signage to match the rest of our stationery.
Dinner began with mixed baby greens, followed by ginger-glazed sea bass, roasted chicken, or a duo of beef. Our wedding cake was pistachio with cannoli filling and raspberry sauce. Platters of chocolate macaroons and salted chocolate caramels, passed sweets, and a crepe station completed dessert. We added a late night savory element with a food truck station serving meatball sliders and hot dogs. Our fantastic 10-piece band electrified the room and kept everyone dancing all night. Multiple fire pits placed on the wraparound terrace gave our guests a place to lounge and enjoy the amazing views.
We’d like to thank all our vendors, our wedding planner, and everyone at Maritime Parc for making our wedding more beautiful and memorable than we could have ever imagined. Thank you to my parents for giving us the most beautiful wedding, and to all our family and friends for being there to celebrate the most special day of our lives!
