Dana & Brant at Harbor Club at Prime

How They Chose Their Venue

The Harbor Club at Prime was the first venue we visited and they
set the bar very high. They offered us a variety of high quality food,
top-of-the-line alcohol, and a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system,
with no upgrade charges typical of other event spaces. We had been
considering a New Year’s Eve wedding and the ballroom seemed like the
perfect party space for the occasion.

“We had the great pleasure of working with Michael Huxtable, the
director of sales, who truly went above and beyond to accommodate
all our needs and requests. Michael was with us every step of the way
during the planning process and was always available to answer our
questions, even on Christmas Eve.”

“Fantastic Party Space”

When Brant first discovered my online dating profile on OK Cupid, we were only 10 percent compatible. I was a little hesitant to accept a date until he increased his match score a bit. So he spent the entire next day answering compatibility questions, and when he  reached 97 percent, he asked me out again. His persistence was very charming and I agreed to see The Book of Mormon on Broadway with him for our first date. We enjoyed several other terrific dates together before deleting our online profiles, and then dated for three and a half years before getting engaged.

Each year Brant and I visit his grandparent’s gravesite in Pennsylvania. Unbeknownst to me, Brant had bought my engagement ring the day before our most recent trip. He says he had no intention of proposing that day and had been praying for the right moment. Brant felt his prayers were answered that afternoon, because to our surprise his long-lost aunt was also visiting the cemetery. He believed that his beloved grandparents were trying to reunite his family, and so an emotional graveside proposal followed soon after.

Brant and I began researching wedding venues immediately after we got engaged. The Harbor Club at Prime was the first venue we visited and they set the bar very high. They offered us a variety of high quality food, top-of-the-line alcohol, and a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system, with no upgrade charges typical of other event spaces. We had been considering a New Year’s Eve wedding and the ballroom seemed like the perfect party space for the occasion. We had the great pleasure of working with Michael Huxtable, the director of sales, who truly went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs and requests. Michael was with us every step of the way during the planning process and was always available to answer our questions, even on Christmas Eve.

Our wedding at Harbor Club began with a spectacular cocktail hour. We had passed hors d’oeuvres, a pasta bar serving pan-seared gnocchi in a parmesan-truffle sauce, a pan Asian station featuring shrimp and lobster wontons and pork steamed buns, a sushi station, and a chilled seafood bar. The display stations were beautifully presented and the food at each was neatly plated on individual dishes. This made it very convenient for our guests to quickly grab their food and gave them more time to socialize and enjoy the fully stocked bar, serving our signature cocktail, “The Eternitini.” Also featured at the cocktail hour was our beautiful Champagne Diva, who wore a giant skirt with 140 champagne glasses that she served to our guests.

For our dinner entrées we selected filet mignon, roasted chicken, seared duck breast, and “everything” crusted tuna. Many of our guests chose the duck breast option and expressed being excited about the unique menu options that were offered.  We also used the Harbor Club’s preferred cake vendor, and she created a delicious four-tiered cake with two different flavor selections. We chose an apple spice cake with a cinnamon buttercream/cannoli filling and a vanilla cake with a chocolate ganache/raspberry mousse filling. The wedding cake was plated alongside a scoop of peanut butter ice cream covered in a hard Nutella shell, also known as the Nutella bomb. We even served a variety of passed desserts for our guests to enjoy while on the dance floor.

Food and entertainment were our top priorities. Our superb DJ company provided a mix of original DJ tracks and live band performances. This innovative blend of DJ music and live musicians kept the dance floor packed all night long. We also hired salsa dancers to surprise our guests on the dance floor and then at midnight the dancers changed into funky disco ball costumes to ring in the New Year. We wanted to give our guests a New Year’s Eve they would never forget!

I would like to thank Brant for finding me, my wonderful parents for giving me the best life, and my godmother for buying the wedding gown of my dreams. Also a very special thank you to our incredible team of vendors that worked so hard to make our day perfect.
