Cali & Michael at Maritime Parc

We Chose Our Venue Because...

“We wanted a very modern wedding, and when we walked into Maritime Parc we immediately felt its contemporary vibe. Seeing views of New York across the Hudson River felt like the venue was a bridge between our past and present. Maritime Parc has a huge wow factor, with the stunning scenery of Manhattan and the amazing ceiling in the ballroom. The entire staff is extremely organized and the whole day ran smoothly. Every time I turned around to ask for something, there was someone there already anticipating our needs.

“We had our ceremony in the ballroom, which was set up with drapes and felt very intimate. Our cocktail hour was in the atrium, which is beautiful with high wooden ceilings and an outdoor space. Our guests could spend time on the balcony taking in the city views and enjoying our signature drink, which Maritime Parc made to perfection.”

“Stunning Scenery”

Mike and I met in college through mutual friends and shared classes. After a year of getting to know each other, we realized we should be together. After college, Mike started his career in real estate and I began grad school to become an occupational therapist. Soon after, we moved into our first apartment together in New York City.

I knew for a long time I wanted to marry Mike and I loved to look at rings. Once Mike picked out my engagement ring, he enlisted my mom to bring me to the jewelers and have me look at the exact ring with her, to make sure I liked it. I thought it was just a regular shopping day!

When Mike proposed, he told me we were going to his boss’s engagement party and when we got to the restaurant, I assumed we were the first ones there. We walked to the table and I saw flowers and paper rings on it. Mike makes paper rings for me every time we go to dinner, so I knew this was from him. I turned around to find him on one knee. All I remember is saying, “Of course!” We had champagne and our parents came to have dinner with us. Afterwards, we went out with our friends to celebrate. Mike did an amazing job and thought of every detail.

We wanted a very modern wedding, and when we walked into Maritime Parc we immediately felt its contemporary vibe. Being in New Jersey and seeing views of New York across the water felt like the venue was a bridge between our past and present. Maritime Parc has a huge wow factor, with the stunning scenery of Manhattan and the amazing ceiling in the ballroom. Maritime provided a maître d’ to help with anything we needed the day of the wedding. The entire staff is extremely organized and the whole day ran smoothly. Every time I turned around to ask for something, there was someone there, already anticipating our needs.

We had our ceremony in the ballroom, which was set up with drapes and felt very intimate. My aunt Susan officiated and crocheted all our yarmulkes, Mike’s aunt Abby made our ketubah, we used my brother’s kiddish cup, and we were wrapped in Mike’s talis, given to him by his grandparents. We used my sister’s chuppah and sewed the yarmulke my grandmother made for my bat mitzvah in the center with my grandfather’s Jewish star hanging down. Our whole family helped create these special touches.

Our cocktail hour was in the atrium, which is beautiful with high wooden ceilings and an outdoor space. Our guests could spend time on the balcony taking in the city views and enjoying our signature drink, which Maritime Parc made to perfection. We wanted a plentiful cocktail hour and some of our favorite hors d’oeuvres were the asparagus crostini, pulled barbeque chicken empanadas, Scandinavian spiced meatballs, and the lobster mac and cheese fritters! We also had a cheese and charcuterie table and a bruschetta and crudité table.

The ballroom was amazing and Maritime Parc made my vision come true. We hung flowers from the ceiling, with lots of very rich pinks and greenery. My florist made a huge ring of flowers that hung from the ceiling over the dance floor. Our tables varied from small six-person tables to large 20-person tables. The large tables had smaller rings of flowers, the medium-sized tables had square glass vases with balls of flowers and candles hanging from tall branches, and the smaller tables had very low pink roses and calla lilies.

Mike loves trying new food, so we had a cocktail hour style dinner and a variety of stations available for most of the night. Between the pasta, the fresh tacos, and the Asian, Mediterranean, and grilling stations, there were cuisines for every taste! It was the perfect mesh of me and Mike.

We’d like to thank our parents for making the wedding of our dreams come true. Everyone at Maritime Parc, thank you so much for making everything run so smoothly. Thank you to all our vendors for making everything feel so personal, and especially to our florist, who went above and beyond. We’d also like to thank all our guests and family who came together to celebrate our wedding day!
