“Rustic Gazebo & Gorgeous Views”
Krista: Andrew and I met at a bar when our friends, who were in the first stages of dating, brought us along as buffers. I am an executive assistant and Andrew is a police officer. We hit it off that night and for our first date, Andrew took me bowling.
Andrew: After about two and a half years of dating, I arranged a surprise proposal with Krista’s best friend, Danielle. I had Danielle invite us to join her and her fiancé at the Cherry Blossom Festival, something that Krista and I did early on in our relationship. We walked around the festival for a while until I finally found a spot near a blooming tree, where I asked Krista to marry me. Danielle and her fiancé recorded a video and took pictures of the whole proposal.
Krista: The pictures of SkyView Golf Club online looked just like what we had in mind. When we saw it in person and met Rafael Payano and Michelle Flores Payano, the general managers, we knew it was the one for us. We visited before they had their renovations and thought the interior design and views are gorgeous. The amazing renovations made it even 10 times more perfect. Working with Rafael and Michelle was a great experience. They were so nice and helpful and the whole staff was on top of everything.
Andrew: We got married in the gazebo, overlooking a beautiful valley. The priest from Krista’s grandparents’ church did a blessing for us during our ceremony. We had an incredible amount of food at our cocktail hour, with butlers passing appetizers like bistro meatballs and tomato mozzarella skewers. The big hits were the pub station with classics like buffalo chicken wings and mozzarella sticks, paired with an IPA beer display, and the All-American potato bar with all kinds of toppings.
Krista: Our ballroom had mint color uplighting, which matched the mint napkins on the tables. We had alternating low centerpieces filled with coral flowers, each surrounded by candles and flower petals. Our DJ played a wide variety of music that had everyone dancing all night. He played everything from 80’s and 90’s classics and rap to Spice Girls to AC/DC. Our dinner started with a penne alla vodka dish, followed by a duet of chateaubriand with bordelaise sauce and chicken française. For dessert, we had our wedding cake plus a Parisienne table with all kinds of sweets.
Krista & Andrew: Thank you to our parents for making this whole thing possible. And thank you to our friends and family for their love and support. Thank you to all our vendors, we could not have picked anyone better. A special shout out to our photographer, Anthony, who so kindly printed out a life-size cut-out of my youngest brother, Brandon, who could not make it because he was fighting in Afghanistan. It meant so much to me. Thank you to Rafael, Michelle, and everyone at SkyView Golf Club for bringing our dream wedding to life.
