Mike and I met through a mutual friend and our first date was at The Carriage House Restaurant. He had a romantic proposal on the Skytop Tower in the natural setting of Mohonk Mountain House Resort, and we naturally chose a country setting for our wedding. We agreed on an October 15th wedding date, the same day as my late parents, Bonnie and David Kershaw, had their wedding.

We fell in love with the laid back country feel of Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster, NY, which was also close to our home. The venue was great, especially with the decor set-up and break down. The ceremony was outside on the field under the Arbor, while the sun shone on us as we said our vows.

The cocktail hour was inside the Tilly’s Table restaurant with the fireplace glowing and passed treats. The decor was farmhouse modern in all areas. We chose a buffet style dinner, and offered our guests a choice of chicken, beef, seafood, and pasta.

For our wedding cake, we chose a tiered butter cream cake of vanilla and chocolate, and cookies and cream. The DJ played a great mix of country and hip hop songs and had everyone dancing! Our wedding song was  “I Need You” by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Mike and his mom danced to “Can she have this dance?” by Drew Baldridge.

We would love to thank everyone who traveled far to join us on our special day. Special thanks to our brother-in-law Chris for officiating the ceremony!
