We began planning our wedding by looking at a few venues and chose The Westin Governor Morris. We liked the ceremony gazebo and that we could have everything in one location without worrying about transportation.
David Lombardi, the director of catering, was amazing. He was very accommodating to our requests and those of our family, and always brought a smile wherever he went. Christina Rodriguez, the senior sales manager, was a great help as well when it came to getting the room block organized. Any time we had an issue or concern these two were quick to respond and offer answers or solutions. The work they put in took a lot of stress off us and we couldn’t be more grateful.
We went for a Travel-Themed Wedding since we love traveling the world. We used earth colors of blue and forest green. Invitations were boarding passes and passports with our wedding date as the flight number. Each table at our reception was a different country so we had custom made table numbers in the shape of globes with their country on it, floating candles, and some Pokemon cutouts.
Our guestbook was actually a little wooden plane you could drop into a transparent globe. For cocktail hour décor, we had a custom signpost of places dearest to us, vintage suitcases, a crossword puzzle about us, and a departure sign with times of the day’s events. Our guests could find their names attached to a “Where in the world are you sitting” sign in the form of a take-home luggage tag. At the end of the evening, guests could claim their baggage from a suitcase with biscoff cookies in little paper suitcases.
