The previously working silo is still there at the Couch House. It reflects the venue’s history and has a beautiful chandelier. We’re easygoing people and for our cocktail hour we had simple foods like a pizza station and chicken and waffles. We also had shrimp, cilantro crab cakes, pigs in a blanket, and mini beef Wellington. I have vegan friends and family and there was something for everyone, including tempura fried broccoli and polenta-stuffed mushrooms. Again, Ryland Inn was always so accommodating with different dietary options. We had fun signature drinks and named them after our dogs. Our dogs even got to be with us for the cocktail hour!
We did our reception in the main area of the Coach House near the fireplace. It’s a spectacular room! The fireplace was lit on the outside, so people could enjoy the patio that was off the reception room. We had a s’mores station on the back patio. We had flowers and greenery on the fireplace and it was a beautiful space.
All the food at Ryland Inn is delicious. We chose the NY strip steak, which was amazing with so much flavor. We also chose a half roast-chicken breast with sweet potato puree, roasted brussel sprouts, and a bacon and onion marmalade. It was spectacular. For a vegan option, we had vegetable lasagna
Our wedding cake was very rustic. Not anything crazy, but a simple and modern cake. For dessert, we also had petit fours, chocolate-covered strawberries, and, by the fireside, s’mores. Ryland Inn set up a departure station with classic cheeseburgers, crispy chicken sandwiches, and curly fries.
