We planned our ceremony to occur right before sunset, so our first kiss as a married couple happened just as the sun was setting and we could see the cotton candy sky with orange and red reflections on the magnificent skyscrapers. Liberty House’s abundant dishes for cocktail hour were a huge hit with all our guests. We enjoyed the beginning of cocktail hour in our bridal suite, where our maître d’ brought platter after platter of delicious appetizers. Our favorites were popcorn chicken, creamed spinach, truffled beef tenderloin, and lobster mac and cheese tarts with smoked bacon, which rocked!
The Grand Ballroom has 35-foot ceilings with exposed woodwork and brand new beautiful white marble floors. The floor-to-ceiling windows facing the New York skyline make it a beautiful and unique space for a wedding. We chose oval-shaped tables for our guests, with white tablecloths, gold accent pieces, and simple low white floral arrangements for our centerpieces. Simple string lights hanging from the ceiling added to the warm ambiance.
Dinner started with a delicious salad of spinach, roasted pears, dried apricots, toasted almonds, goat cheese, and champagne vinaigrette. For entrées, guests selected grilled filet mignon or pan-seared Chatham cod, each with decadent sides. The venue was extremely accommodating to guests who had food allergies or restrictions. The filets were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection.
We chose a beautiful but simple four-tier cake with white icing and inside layers alternating between chocolate mousse and dulce de leche. Our florist added a few flowers to give it a rustic look. Guests were also given a selection of desserts at each table.
