| For a dramatic afternoon or evening look suitable for brunettes or blondes, Meryl Schwartz and Magda Nyitray of Ashimoto Essential Beauty, helped our radiant cover model Diana Bogdanova present herself as a bold, sensual bride. "Clearly, Diana exfoliates and takes great care of her skin," says Meryl, "so any makeup will last and look beautiful." She applies a natural beige foundation to Diana’s forehead, chin, and cheeks, blending it lightly, using a heavier "stappling" technique on the cheeks to cover any redness. For a flawless, matte finish, she uses rice powder in the T-zone. Meryl brushes the brows with a grooming gel, working with the natural hairline to avoid a "wicked brow." Brushing upward she uses rich brown by Bobbi Brown. Next, Dianas eyes are lined with charcoal, then shadowed with smoked plum in the crease and mauve on the lid. Shimmer is placed beneath the brow bone for radiance. "For an evening look, you’ll need lots of black mascara and eyeliner," says Meryl. "This dramatic look works well with straight, sexy dresses." To balance out the strong eyes, Dianas lips are done with mauve lip gloss and pencil for a sheer, dewey effect. On her cheeks, Meryl uses pure pink by Ashimoto and adds shimmer for luminosity. As a final step, mosaic bronzer is used all over to give a healthy sun-kissed glow. "Put it wherever the sun hits, as well as down the neckline to even the color." With strong makeup, stylist Madga suggests you balance it with smooth, sexy, loose flowing hair. To achieve this look, she uses big rollers on the crown, with a mix of medium and small rollers down the side and back. Afterwards, the curls are loosened with the fingers using a bit of pomade for a shiny, natural effect. |
